With “Reactivation Projects” the same cannot be said that the project follows a systematic path. Most project management software do not fit well with a reactivation project, mainly as there is no systematic approach or consistency between one project and another. Not only are many reactivation projects not similar, the scopes of work can vary dramatically pending time rigs are stacked, the project path the owner takes and on top of that there are many scoops that will keep being identified on the way.
When looking at developing software the process will normally take the path of brainstorming with ideas, and it may take several days, weeks or even months to slowly piece together possible solutions on how best to tackle a situation.
Developing Reactivation Software was no different in that trying to work out ways to manage a project with limitless possibilities and directions and come up with the final solution that can allow for any number of multiple additions.
Yes its possible to scope a project with the normal issues considered, what maintenance is required, recertification, and other obvious issues that may be required, but then identifying numerous other non-defined items and then placing them in a systematic process and managing it is another matter, and as stated each project can follow different paths pending on numerous situations, e.g. company methods.
All the above can be completed but how the information is put in place and how this information is organized and used to manage a complex project is the key.
